“For the first time in many years I feel joy and hope about my life and I’m so grateful for the love and support I have received through this journey.”

~ Kimberly Beckelman

Kimberly Beckelman grew up in a small town in NC, just on the border of Virginia. The beauty of the ocean moved her to the Outer Banks, but the call of the mountains brought her to Charlottesville, VA in 2005, where she still calls home. She began her artistic career at age 15, working in a salon and later becoming a hairstylist, but has always had a passion for the arts and decorating.

Kimberly’s reason for being and the love of her life, her son Luke, tragically passed away in 2015 at the age of 20. Her world went dark, and it was all she could do to make it through the day. Until her friends talked her into picking up a paintbrush. It was the only thing that would take her away from her grief, even if just for a little while.

Then, in 2018, a freak accident critically injured both of her hands. Doctors were unsure whether Kimberly’s fingers would ever work again, much less cut hair or paint. Within a year, she had accomplished both. Her passion for painting has taken her on a new life journey. While she still works part-time in a salon, the majority of her hours are spent in front of a canvas.
